In Our Parish
**Student body will sing and 8th grade
will do parts of the Mass. 
Students wear gold polo Mass shirts.
**Open house in the school after Mass untill 11:00 a.m.  Students' work will be displayed.
**Book fair and religious articles for sale in the Library.
**CDA Roast Beef Dinner at Family Center 11a.m.-1p.m.
**All 6th - 8th grade students write essays about the importance of Catholic Schools.

In Our Community
**Students going green for our Community by scripting a service/character thank you verse on non-disposable, green HEB bags.
**"Thank you for your service"
cookie cakes will be delivered to the Police Station, Fire Station, and Yoakum City Hall.
**On-going project of Christmas cards and Valentine cards presented to
 Nursing Home residents.
**SJS is collecting the following items all week from the students, parish, and community and will be donated to local organizations in need of these items:
a. Teddy bears and friends (new or gently used stuffed animals)
b. Warm Coats/Warm Hearts (new or gently used coats)
c. Animals in Need (dried foods, treats, food/water bowls, cleaning supplies)
d. A Beautiful New Year (new/unused makeup, perfume, personal toiletries)

In Our Students
**No Homewordk Night.
**Bulletin Board displaying photos of SJS students demonstrating characteristics of faith, academics, and service.
**Students watch a movie in the
Family Center and enjoy
popcorn and drinks.
**Students will go to the
playground to play games.

In Our Nation
**Make a prayer chain, petitions writtten by the students for our nation.
**Attend Mass weraring red, white and blue to show patriotism to our great nation
and a special blessing by Father Matthew
for our country along with the blessing
of the prayer chain.
**Meet at the flag pole after lunch to pray the living rosary and release balloons.
**Three American Saints are honored as
 three students dress to represent them and explain how they have influenced
 Catholic Education in America.
**Students give a monetary donation to the Fisher House in San Antonio to help military familes.
**A picture will be taken of the student body in flag formation.
**Endowment Fund Stew Supper at the Family Center from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

**Recite a speical prayer on morning announcements and watch a video on vocatins.
**Two college students give a personal
view of their lives regarding
Religious Vocations to students.
**Present Father Matthew with a gift of appreciation.

In our Faculty, Staff and Volunteers
**8th graders teach classes untill 11:30 a.m.
**8th graders honor all teachers with lunch and snacks at 9:45 a.m.
**Small token of appreciation passed out to teachers from Student Council.
**Dismissal at 1:00 p.m.
